# Datacenter setup

> Get started with Datacenter IPv4 and IPv6 proxies

Datacenter proxies are fast and affordable, making them ideal for high-volume work where stealth isn't critical. Generate credentials, plug them into your tools, and start using proxies immediately.

## Generate proxies

Open the [Unified Proxy Generator](https://www.eclipseproxy.com/dashboard/proxy-generator) and select **Datacenter** to create proxy credentials. You're billed per GB used—no minimum thread counts or complex plans.

## Choose IPv4 or IPv6

|               | IPv4                   | IPv6                                      |
| ------------- | ---------------------- | ----------------------------------------- |
| **Pool size** | \~3,000 IPs            | Virtually unlimited                       |
| **Use for**   | Targets requiring IPv4 | High-volume work, IPv6-compatible targets |

Both use the same authentication and session options.

## Your proxy credentials

Datacenter uses the standard format: `host:port:username:password`. No geo segments needed—just paste and go.

**Authentication is username:password only.** IP whitelist is not available on Datacenter. If you need IP-based auth, use [Residential](/setup/residential).

## Targeting by country

Pick a country and generate. That's your targeting option on Datacenter—no state, city, or ASN filtering.

## Rotating vs sticky sessions

Works the same as Residential: rotating port for new IPs per request, sticky port for persistence. See [Sessions](/setup/residential#sticky-vs-rotating) for details.

## IPv6 subnet note

Our IPv6 /29 subnet gives you a large pool within a single range. Anti-bot systems may recognize this. If subnet homogeneity is a problem for your target, consider [Residential](/products/residential) or [Mobile](/products/mobile) instead.

## Things to watch for

<Accordion title="Can I use IP whitelist?">
  No on Datacenter—credentials only. Use the username and password from your generator.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="IPv6 proxies stall on Netflix">
  Known behavior. Connections stall briefly then recover. Implement retry with exponential backoff in your client.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="How many IPv4 IPs?">
  About 3,000. The pool rotates as we acquire and retire ranges.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="What IPv4 ranges?">
  Multiple ranges, not a single /24. Contact support if you need exact ranges for allowlisting on your end.
